Mississippi Vacation Home
A waterfront residence for relaxation and sport
Situated on 1,000 acres of land facing a large, man-made lake, this new traditional Creole-style residence was designed to serve as a vacation home and hunting camp.
The program is aggregated into three major volumes; a central pavilion with living and dining spaces separates a guest wing from the master suite wing. A central corridor connecting all three volumes terminates at either end in cupola-topped vestibules, which focus natural daylight into the home.
Throughout the house, highly detailed custom cabinetry and millwork link connecting rooms. The living space that anchors the home was designed with high ceilings and large natural wood trusses that showcase the owners’ extensive taxidermy collection.
