The New Orleans Marriott Convention Center is a 331-room hotel located in the heart of New Orleans’ historic Warehouse District, directly across from the Ernest M. Morial Convention Center. In 2011, Trapolin-Peer Architects designed a 14-story guest room tower where a warehouse once sat. The work included restoration of the brick facades of two 1855 cotton warehouses known as the Mississippi Warehouses.

The most recent renovation, completed in 2021, included the interior renovation with refreshed guest rooms, ballrooms, pre-function spaces, meeting rooms, lobby, and dining spaces. Trapolin-Peer was tasked with reimagining the lobby and hospitality sequence to reinforce the connection between the Convention Center pedestrian park project and the hotel’s bar and restaurant. By removing a wall and non-structural columns in the lobby, we were able to strengthen the connection between the two sides of the hotel. Remaining spaces were refreshed to create a cohesive and fresh environment for travelers.
