Third Street Residence is a new construction project located in the Garden District on a previously empty corner lot. The main facade of the house faces Third Street while nodding to Prytania with a prominent grand stair hall that lights up at night.
The client requested a simple, traditional, and well-proportioned house with few ornamental details that responds to its context within the fabric of the Garden District. The first floor plan was designed with an emphasis on circulation and crowd flow when entertaining. Symmetry and axes were used to layout entrances and main circulation.
