The Lafayette Hotel, located in the heart of the Central Business District on Lafayette Square, was originally constructed in 1916 and was among the first poured-in-place concrete structures in New Orleans. The renovation included recreating the building’s original lobby, restoring the entrance door and canopy and installing a large commercial kitchen. Interior scope was comprised of the demolition of the existing interiors and the design of twenty-two luxury suites and twenty-two large individual guest rooms.

The building’s original lobby were re-created and the entrance door and canopy were restored. The interiors of the hotel were demolished, and twenty-two luxury suites and twenty-two large individual guest rooms were created on the upper floors. A large commercial kitchen was installed to service the new ground floor restaurant and bar. To maximize the use of the property, a mezzanine level was created which housed the executive offices, public restrooms, a meeting room, staff facilities, a laundry room, and mechanical equipment rooms. The renovation of the property required completely new mechanical and electrical systems, elevators, as well as life safety and ADA upgrades.
