Dough Nguyener’s Bakery emerges as a vibrant addition to historic downtown Gretna, integrating into the neighborhood fabric. Trapolin-Peer had the opportunity to design a space for high volume production as well as provide a dynamic bakery retail and dining area on a corner lot.

The design of Dough Nguyener’s Bakery brings enduring value to the Gretna community by creating a space that merges traditional neighborhood character with modern design. This thoughtful approach offers the client a highly functional, flexible production facility that serves a dual purpose: supporting high-volume output while inviting patrons into a warm, welcoming environment. For the community, the bakery’s location and design foster a sense of place, encouraging connection and vibrancy along the Lafayette Street corridor. The elevated outdoor seating allows patrons to enjoy a unique view of the neighborhood while the modern façade, integrating materials like cement board siding, metal shingles, and tile accents, respects the architectural rhythm of the area. Together, these elements support Dough Nguyener's vision of a space where residents can gather, dine, and celebrate local flavors.
