Trapolin-Peer Architects is thrilled to announce that Ashley King, AIA and Gene Guidry, AIA have been named partners. The announcement comes as the architectural design firm celebrates its 40th anniversary and continues to expand its footprint with regional architectural work.

Founded in 1981 by Peter Trapolin, FAIA, Trapolin-Peer Architects pioneered the revitalization and transformation of the Warehouse District, beginning with the renovation of the Lafayette Hotel and followed by two decades of significant adaptive re-use and renovation projects. Paula Peer, AIA joined the firm in 2001, and became a partner in 2009. Peer introduced new opportunities for large-scale new construction mixed-use projects into the practice. Together, they grew Trapolin-Peer Architects into a practice focused on contextual and modern architecture for multi-family, educational, single family, and hospitality work across the Gulf South. “The firm is entering a new era with Ashley and Gene as partners,” said Peter Trapolin, FAIA. “Their respective commitment to their craft and client services has helped the firm grow over the years. This expanded partnership will allow us all to bring our expertise and thoughtful design solutions to a larger market.”

Ashley King, AIA first began her career with Trapolin-Peer Architects in 1998 as a recent graduate from the Tulane School of Architecture. King’s design and technical experience with adaptive reuse and renovation projects has been applied to various multifamily and hospitality projects over the years. As the firm’s leading historic tax credit application expert, King brings significant value to her clients as she guides them through the design and construction process. In her new role, King will spearhead the expansion of the firm’s regional historic restoration portfolio. She will also continue to lend her expertise in designing sensitive contextual projects in urban neighborhoods.

Gene Guidry, AIA joined Trapolin-Peer Architects in 2007, applying his experience to the firm’s single family, adaptive reuse, and master planning projects. Guidry, a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette School of Architecture and Design, has immensely impacted and increased the firm’s capacity to negotiate complex deals and develop constructable design concepts. As a member of the firm’s leadership team for the past 8 years, Guidry will continue to steer the firm’s mentorship program while cultivating new development opportunities.
