353 Carondelet and Four Seasons Hotel and Residences were recognized by the Louisiana Landmarks Society for Excellence in Historic Preservation. This year’s program honored projects completed in Orleans Parish in 2020 and 2021 that represent outstanding examples of restoration or rehabilitation of historic buildings, or new construction.

About 353 Carondelet

Once part of c.1850 “Union Row,” a block-long row of buildings on Carondelet Street, 353 Carondelet in 1958 joined together two of the four-story commercial buildings into a single unit by removal of the party wall and with the installation of a single Mid-Century Modern slipcover façade. Now housing the headquarters of Fidelity Bank, the period first-floor interior spaces were preserved, the second floor was finished as an executive space for seven offices, break-out workspaces, a board room, and a break room. The third and fourth floors are white box ready for future tenants.

About Four Seasons Hotel and Residence

The International Trade Mart building was designed by Edward Durell Stone in 1964 to serve as the hub of international trade for the Port of New Orleans. The remarkable restoration of the iconic building included introducing new materials and techniques to create the luxury hotel and residences, ballrooms, and public attractions that include a rooftop exhibit in the former revolving lounge that celebrates Louisiana’s cultural heritage, a panoramic observation deck, extensive landscaped paths and gardens, and dining venues. The World Trade Center was named on Louisiana Landmarks Society’s 2013 List of Nine Most Endangered Sites, making this impressive transformation even more poignant.

Society for Marketing Professional Services, Southeast Louisiana

SMPS held its annual Making Big Moves Marketing Workshop and Awards Luncheon at the Metairie Country Club for a day of knowledge sharing and training with AEC marketers, business developers, technical professionals, and principals. Additionally, the chapter celebrated exemplary achievements in communications, marketing, and professional development in the build environment.

Trapolin-Peer was honored with two achievement awards, which recognize excellence and exceptional accomplishments among marketing and business development professionals:

Our partnership with Son of a Saint was awarded Community Service Project of the Year and our Marketing Director, Lorraine Lorio, was named Member of the Year.

About the SMPS Community Service Program of the Year

This category represents a shining example of one firm’s or member’s commitment to its community and/or individuals in need.

TPA provided full pro bono architectural services for Son of a Saint’s new 12,000 SF headquarters space in Mid-city. By the end of the project, our team will have logged over 2,100 hours in donated time.

Awards Judge, Nicole Marshall, comments “One of the greatest gifts our industry can contribute to the world is the work itself. Pro bono services allow us to provide support to non-profits on an exponential basis. I love that TPA did this!”

About SMPS Member of the Year

This individual is recognized for demonstrating significant commitment to the organization during the past year. The member has gone above and beyond the role of the typical member and has made significant contributions to the chapter in the process.
