TPA is pleased to share that the firm has been recognized by the New Orleans CityBusiness 2024 Empowering Women program alongside many of our colleagues and friends.  This program recognizes companies and organizations that have shown a strong commitment to supporting and elevating women.

TPA has been making moves in-house to redesign the historically male-dominated field of architecture. At a time when gender diversity in architecture schools has leveled out to 50 percent or more, the firm has recognized that women account for only 15 percent of licensed architects, and that they are more likely to be relegated to project management positions while their male counterparts are put in lead designer roles.

TPA has put programs and policies in place to hire, mentor and promote more women architects and designers; women make up 56 percent of the firm’s employees.  The firm recently revised its family policy to better support women’s goals and to allow for more flexibility to navigate life outside the office. TPA developed an internal structure of support for licensure and professional development and set up a recent-graduate workshop and formal programs for emerging professionals and professional growth.
