Trapolin-Peer Architects is pleased to announce the promotion of Sarah Simonson, AIA, to Partner.
Over the past 12 years, Sarah has become an integral leader within the firm, helping guide complex institutional, civic, and adaptive reuse projects throughout New Orleans and the Gulf South. Her work reflects a disciplined, systems-driven approach to architecture grounded in collaboration, technical coordination, and long-term stewardship.
Sarah has led projects involving both major renovations and large new construction projects. Her experience includes work at Jackson Barracks, Tulane University’s Richardson Memorial Hall, Edna Karr High School, and the upcoming Rivana Apartments in the River District.
Sarah brings a clear understanding of mission-driven work and operational coordination. Her approach emphasizes clarity, accountability, and early collaboration across consultant teams, clients, and stakeholders — particularly on projects where continuity of operations and technical performance are critical.
In addition to her project leadership, Sarah has played an important role in shaping the culture of the studio through mentorship and professional advocacy. She has served in leadership positions with AIA New Orleans, Women in Architecture, and the New Orleans Architecture Foundation, contributing to the growth and visibility of the design community across the region.
“Sarah brings clarity, discipline, and deep care to both project work and team leadership,” said Paula Peer, AIA, President of Trapolin-Peer Architects. “Her promotion reflects the trust she has built with clients, collaborators, and our studio over many years.”
Sarah’s promotion marks an important step in the continued evolution of the firm’s leadership and reinforces Trapolin-Peer Architects’ commitment to thoughtful, technically rigorous, and community-centered design.
