Designed by TPA in partnership with Gretna-based entrepreneur, Betty Archote, Dough Nguyener’s Vietnamese Bakery and Cafe is a riff on her family name Nguyen (pronounced “win,” thus “dough winner’s”). Situated at 433 Lafayette Street along the historic downtown Gretna corridor, the family celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon cutting alongside Gretna city officials and community leaders.

TPA's design draws inspiration from the classic corner entry stores scattered throughout Gretna, introducing contemporary aesthetics to the historic corridor. Embracing bustling Lafayette Street, the outdoor dining space elevates patrons above the passing cars, offering a unique perspective under an inviting awning. With a focus on creating a warm and inviting ambiance, the project provides a communal space for patrons to gather and enjoy a vibrant menu.

The space features a production kitchen, café, and office space on the second floor. The flavorful menu includes donuts, king cakes, Vietnamese-style baguettes and traditional American and Vietnamese breakfast dishes.
